Pre-Disconnection Visit Service

Alongside an NRPS contract, ElectraLink has developed additional meter inspection services to assist Suppliers in meeting their licence conditions. One of these services in the Pre-Disconnection Visit (PDV) Service.

If a customer has not paid a bill after 28 days, their supplier may contact them about the possibility of disconnecting their gas or electricity supply. For domestic properties, suppliers are more likely to install a prepayment meter instead of disconnecting supply. A PDV allows for that first step in liaising with the customer to seek a resolution to the outstanding debt.

ElectraLink’s PDV Service provides suppliers with peace of mind that extra steps have been taken to liaise with the customer fully before being required to apply for a warrant to enter premises to install a prepayment meter. The PDV service aims to inform, educate and support the customer to facilitate the resolution of debt and avoid the successive steps in warrant application and, ultimately, installation of a prepayment meter or disconnection.
