This role is full-time, permanent position located in our Central London or Nottingham office with an annual salary up to £65,000 DOE, including 10% variable bonus and an excellent benefits package. Job Summary

We are looking for a leader in human resources to join the Diversity & Engagement team as our new Head of People. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a senior people role, delivering high quality HR services and change management with a small team.

You will be comfortable developing a people strategy that is designed to enhance our company culture, championing employee engagement initiatives, managing employee relations, and supporting change and communication efforts. You will work closely with the Director of Diversity and Engagement to:

  • Support a high performing hybrid working environment with a focus on employee engagement, collaboration and personal development.

Main purpose of job

Key elements of the role include but are not limited to:

HR service delivery

· Lead on the development, maintenance and implementation of all HR policies, procedures and guidelines, ensuring these remain inline with up-to-date employment law and best practice.

·Provide oversight to the HR team, including supporting their development, to ensure all employees receive a high level of HR service.

· Support all managers as needed on management of industrial relations (e.g. performance management, disciplinary, grievances, redundancy etc). Participate / lead meetings related to this as appropriate.

·Provide regular reporting on the performance and progress of an HR department.

Performance management

·Ensure the successful implementation of our performance management framework, assuring goals and targets are aligned to planned business outcomes and proposing potential improvements to the process as required.

·Support managers where needs arise (e.g. setting goals, giving feedback to employees, discerning performance levels)

·Support the process of understanding performance outcomes and compensation.

Workforce planning and recruitment

·Consult and partner with SMT and managers on succession planning and developing diverse and inclusive staffing plans.

·Support the development of our needs forecast.

·Recruit and retain diverse employee talent

·Oversee the recruitment, selection and onboarding process.

Reward and recognition

·Develop reward and remuneration structures that ensure the business stays competitive in the market and attractive to potential employees, including identifying ways in which ElectraLink can differentiate itself from others in the market.

·Support the development of strategies to ensure ElectraLink retains existing talent and helps them to develop through a clear career development framework.

·Champion reward and recognition throughout the business.

Leadership Support

·Partner with our senior team to implement our new behaviour strategy at all levels of the organisation.

·Provide support to business leaders on organisational effectiveness including effective succession planning and employee engagement.

·Make recommendations for potential interventions on broad employee issues, based on feedback gathered through a number of channels including surveys.

·Provide advice, guidance and coaching to employees and managers on a variety of Employee Relations cases

·Support business leaders on organisational design and restructuring efforts, including strategy for consultations if required.

·Develop and implement change management programs.


·Oversee the accurate and successful delivery of payroll


·Ensure the HR team remains in budget through responsible management and regular monitoring.

Principle Skills & Experience

Required Background:

·University degree or equivalent

·Minimum of CIPD Level 5 Diploma or higher

·Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

·Experience of leading and mentoring other HR and recruitment professionals

·Exceptional knowledge of employment law

·Experience of introducing and updating HR Policies and Procedures

·Toggle between rapid action and wise reflection. You’ll be a detail-oriented person who maintains a high degree of accuracy. However, you must have the ability to zoom out and think strategically about where we’re going and how we need to adapt.
