Chris Anastasi to lead SPAA Executive Committee Through Exciting Transition

Chris Anastasi was appointed in August as independent chairperson to lead the SPAA Executive Committee, and he has fully embraced his new role, already leading the committee through an exciting and changing period for SPAA. Chris Anastasi was until very recently Special Advisor for ENGIE Energy UK (previously GDF SUEZ). He had previously held the post of Head of Government Affairs, Policy and Regulation with ENGIE, having joined the Company in April 2010.

DCUSA Awarded Top Customer Satisfaction Score, Finds New Ofgem Report

The Distribution Connection and Use of Service Agreement (DCUSA), a code delivered by ElectraLink, the UK energy market data hub and established leader in managing energy governance arrangements, has received the highest overall satisfaction score in a new study commissioned by Ofgem and published yesterday afternoon. Respondents, all interacting with the 11 UK energy market codes, were asked a selection of questions via the telephone or online, between 22 November 2016 and 24 January 2017.

Gas Theft Detection Scheme

Following confirmation that Ofgem will implement the Gas Theft Detection Scheme, ElectraLink will be administering it on behalf of SPAA.  This means that there will now be an incentive scheme in the UK for suppliers to detect and investigate gas theft. Rules which are part of the gas licence and already in place ensure energy companies play an active role in detecting, investigating and preventing the theft of gas.

40% of total renewable output no longer ‘invisible’ with launch of new energy data analytics service by ElectraLink

London, UK – 19 October 2016: ElectraLink, provider of data transfer, governance and data analytics services to the UK gas and electricity markets, has today announced the launch of its Renewable Energy Insight service removing the renewables ‘blind spot’ which until now has hidden 40% of total renewable output from view. Renewable energy sources now provide over 25% of electricity to the UK, according to the figures from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy – a four-fold increase since 2008.

Project success for industry as Energy Theft and Tip Off Service (ETTOS) goes live

Following the consumer launch of the Stay Energy Safe campaign by Crimestoppers, ElectraLink, the provider of governance services and a regulated data transmission service to the gas and electricity market, is celebrating the successful go-live of the Energy Theft and Tip Off Service (ETTOS). This follows the launch of the Theft Risk Assessment Service (TRAS) in April 2016, a data analytics service for GB energy suppliers to assess the risk of energy theft at consumer premises, helping to target theft investigations.
