Mark Olliver, Senior Specialist Consultant and TPICoP Lead, commented:

I was interested to read yesterday that Phil Foster, the CEO of Love Energy has called for a non-domestic price cap on non-domestic energy tariffs while underlining the need for regulation in the business sector, (as reported by Cornwall.) His comments support and further validate our view that a TPI Code of Practice is urgently required and our TPICoP team is actively engaging stakeholders in the TPI, supplier and independent third party communities to become founder members of the code.  This activity was set out in the implementation plan we shared with industry late last year.

The independent Code and assurance measures provide a robust framework that is long overdue. By establishing the Code and intended Governance Panel, an independent central register of TPIs can also be administered as part of the Code’s governance framework. It confirms those organisations that are operating in compliance with the code, delivering real value to TPIs, suppliers, and focused on the SME market which will have real benefits for customers.
