ElectraLink, the UK’s Energy Market Data Hub and provider of expert governance services, is delighted to announce that it has promoted Stefan Leedham, its Head of Governance Services, to the role of Director of Governance Services, as the company continues to grow its Governance Services business.
Stefan manages a team with an extensive background in energy policy and regulation and a detailed knowledge of the industry codes. Under Stefan’s leadership, the team has grown significantly, guiding energy market participants through substantial industry change.
Electralink manages the Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement (DCUSA), the Supply Point Administration (SPAA) and the Theft Risk Assessment Service (TRAS), which is a whole-of market industry data initiative to identify potential instances of theft.
Stuart Lacey, Chief Executive of ElectraLink commented: “Stefan has led ElectraLink’s transition – from simply being code manager at the heart of the UK market to a much more expert role – solving industry problems and improving industry governance. Stefan’s management skills together with his expertise in areas of energy market reform and regulation, have enabled him to deliver ElectraLink’s growth strategy and to achieve its ambition of supporting transformation in the UK energy market.”
Stefan said: “The past two years have witnessed real change in our sector. On the horizon is the Retail Energy Code (REC), which seeks to introduce a Code enabling energy consumers to easily and confidently switch supplier. This work is led by Ofgem and supported by ElectraLink. So many of the existing switching arrangements and code governance structures were created for a system that is now obsolete.”
“My focus continues to be on growing the team and the skill set that is required for industry problem-solving while continuing to deliver excellent customer service.”
