ElectraLink, the UK’s energy market data hub, has partnered with Meter Provida, the UK’s leading multi-utility metering installation company, to enable it to utilise ElectraLink’s Energy Market Insight service, based on key information exchanged across the Data Transfer Network (DTN), to improve the data availability for Meter Provida’s reverse logistics process.
ElectraLink’s DTN connects all retail market participants, and underpins industry inter-operability and supports processes critical to a competitive energy market. This partnership makes Meter Provida the only company of its kind in the UK to have access to this particular dataset – as ElectraLink looks to work with industry-leading companies across all sections of the retail energy market to drive efficiency in its operation.
The electricity markets are complex, competitive, dynamic and evolving –, particularly in the Smart era. ElectraLink’s Data Transfer Network (DTN) operates at the centre of the industry, carrying much of the data on a variety of market functions. With the permission of the owners of the data, ElectraLink’s Energy Market Insight service mines this data source to provide analytics and insight to the industry.
This new agreement will enable data to be sent to Meter Provida to better validate the owner of an electricity meter so optimising the return and repatriation process.
Dan Hopkinson, Head of Network and EMI Services, said:
“The energy market is moving to an environment that is underpinned by data. We’re delighted to be working with Meter Provida. This contract further demonstrates our intention to work with companies that will make innovative use of our data.”
Stephen Burr, Managing Director of Meter Provida, said:
“We are pleased to be working closely with ElectraLink and making use of their data to strengthen our service offering.
“This agreement sets us head and shoulders above our competitors and will allow us to provide an industry-leading level of service to our customers.”
