ElectraLink supports DECC’s consultation on options to better support MAPs during the Foundation Stage of the SMIP and considers that the current arrangements deserve review to facilitate the installation and operation of smart meters during the Foundation Stage of SMIP. ElectraLink considers that a hybrid approach combining regulatory requirements with a commercial solution would deliver the best outcome for customers and industry.
ElectraLink is ready to help industry leverage the existing Data Transfer Network to implement whichever approach DECC chooses, as it has done in the past for instance for DUOS billing for electricity, and for RGMA flows for Gas.
