Executive Management will operate and develop the EMS to ensure that:
- current and future legislation is complied with at all times;
- all current and future business activities are included within the EMS;
- targets for measuring and improving environmental performance, and for preventing pollution, are set and monitored if and where applicable;
- all employees, including new starters, are made aware of their environmental responsibilities;
- suppliers and sub-contractors are actively encouraged to operate with due consideration for their environmental impacts; and
- environmental performance and compliance with the EMS is monitored and reported at Executive Management level.
Executive Management have created the role of Environmental Manager with the authority and responsibility to ensure that the EMS is effectively implemented and maintained, and to report to the Executive Management on all aspects of environmental performance, including the performance of the EMS and recommendations for improvement.
Executive Management shall also periodically review the Environmental Policy and the EMS to ensure they are consistent and effective, up to date, in line with business objectives and compliant with legislation and best practice.
ElectraLink intends that its EMS be certified to meet the requirements of the international ISO 14001:2004.
